French Dance Stroud has been formed to share our
enthusiasm for French traditional music and dance.
Dances include such favourites as bourree, scottishe,
mazurka, waltz and a variety of Breton dances.
We hold regular, monthly dances at Horsley Village Hall,
inviting some of the best bands, both local and from across
the country, to play for us.
In 2011 events start at 3pm with two afternoon dance workshops,
followed by a "bring and share" tea from 6.15pm, musicians
session, then the evening dance at 8pm.
Everyone is very welcome, whether you come to all or part of the day.
The music is live, with a variety of styles and instruments,
including hurdy-gurdy, accordion, bagpipes, violin, guitar,
flute, bombarde and more.
